Education and Training
Indoor air quality is considered a developing area of expertise and best practices are continually improved.IAQm offers accurate and up to date information to other professionals and the public through:
- lectures at accredited educational institutions
- presentations through professional organizations
- reports
- email and phone conversations
Education and training promotes awareness, understanding, commitment, and behaviour change.
Venues used by IAQm in the pursuit of education and training:
- Lecture series for University of Calgary’s Continuing Education Management Certificate Program 2006-2007 and 2007-2008. Topics on indoor air quality.
- Distinguished lecturer for American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 2007-2009. Presentations made in Halifax (NS), Moncton (NB), Modesto (CA), Lisbon (Portugal), and Calgary (AB). Renewed for 2009-2011.
- Course package for SAIT (HVAC Certificate Program).
- Course package for Mt. Royal College Continuing Education (Indoor Air Quality for the Homeowner).
- Indoor air quality presentation for: the Alberta Respiratory Disease Symposium, Canadian School Boards Association, Calgary Condominium Association, Canmore Rotary Club, and Chelonian Risk Assessment Engineers.
